The Year 2012

I have travelled quite a bit in the past few months.  From Casey Key, Florida to Montreal, Quebec and even to my hometown of Sarnia.  Through-out this time period I have recently become a member of a few business networking sites and have truly enjoyed and am in awe of the caliber of business people and their accomplishments.   But in my day to day life, it never ceases to amaze me the racism, prejudice or stereotyping of individuals.  As a writer, I keep my mind open.  I love to observe human behaviour, and trust me, anyone who writes for their passion, is an upfront behavioural observer of human nature.  That’s why we write for a living.  From President Obama’s recent declaration for support of gay marriage and the reactions to this, to the controversial shooting of a young teen named Trayvon Martin by a community watch leader, it astounds me that society as a whole has not progressed to accept individuals for who they are, not what they are stereotyped as.  My personal motto is to listen to the person and not judge at all!  I like people regardless of race, colour or creed.  Let’s all get along people. Life is too short to be caught up in pettiness.  What did you do today to help someone else or make them smile?
