Writing for Writing’s Sake

Someone asked me the other day: “Why do you write, Lee Anne? Don’t you find it hard and lots of work?”  I reflected on the question before answering and then admitted, “Well I write for writing’s sake.”  I have a passion, a drive within me that encourages me to keep on writing.  Did I ever think I would make lots and lots of money from it? Simply put, no.  I feel I have something to say and hope people appreciate it, or please, for Heaven’s sake, don’t read on.  I write from my heart, from a place of love, and I hope it enlightens readers a bit while on their journey in life.  Each one of us has our own unique journey.  It is about finding your passion and hopefully it helps others.  But one question I’d like to propose is this:  How much do you love in life?  And I don’t mean inter-personal love, I mean love life, people, humanity, nature?  Are you conscious of preserving nature for our future generations to come?  See, these are the things I reflect upon and weave into my books.  I look at life beyond my personal feelings, but my spiritual journey of enlightenment and factoring in the need to help others who may not be able to help themselves.  This is probably my main purpose of writing.  Like I said, I write for writing’s sake. 🙂

  1. You inspire me with your writing, LeeAnne, with your courage to share of yourself and your truth….. It helps me stop and reflect because it is oh so easy to get on and stay on the treadmill, when I don’t permit myself the time to pause, slow down and drink in all that there is to be grateful for. I am so blessed that you keep writing for writing’s sake!!! Peace and love… Always
